I started Techno Sol in the late spring of 2003. Inspired by the fruits of cross-genre record shopping, I was attempting to expose the porous boundaries between Techno and House. Back then, it was known as Click House or Microhouse or Dub Techno and could be found in the oddest of places.

Since that time, much of the music along those lines has been widely championed as Minimal Techno by fans around the world. And the sound has taken on new representation around the globe, building larger and larger crowds as the months go by. Even now, Techno Sol still aims to explore those boundaries and the odd places, regardless of sub-genre.

Techno Sol is the only weekly night in Portland where you can always get your fix of sexy, minimal techno. Featuring labels like: M_nus, Kompakt, Trapez, Bpitch Control, Traum, Spectral/Ghostly, Onitor, Audiomatique, Itiswhatitis, Out of Orbit, Chain Reaction and affiliates, Perlon, Ernst, Areal, Trenton, MFF, Orac, Mental Groove, Treibstoff, Force Tracks, Klang, Ware, Playhouse, Bruchstuecke, Italic, Get Physical, Deeplay, and many more of the like. It's the sound that everyone's been asking for around the world, from Berlin to Japan, from Croatia to Brooklyn, from the UK to Portland.

Portland, Oregon is a small city in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. Long known for its small-town feel and rebellious attitudes, Portland harbours a larger-than-normal music scene and a larger-than-normal passion for music. Over 25 independent record stores exist here and it seems like every bar and restaurant features a DJ or some live musician on some (if not all) nights. It's no wonder that Portland has such an excellent reputation with touring musicians.

Saucebox has long been the standard for late night lounges in Portland, for ten years running. Their dining expansion has updated many of the features of the restaurant, including sound system, bathrooms, bar, artwork, and dining room. They also have a great late night menu with a wide selection of delectibles and treats for your taste buds, at very reasonable prices.
