3rd Thursdays: The Perfect Cyn

Since the very beginning of this night, Cynthia and I have shared many conversations about this sound, and many of the same records. When she mentioned to me in Spring of 2005 that there were very few sounds that were influencing her as much as the deep minimal techno sound, I knew that we had come to the same conclusion about music yet again.

As one of the most active members of Sister PDX and a co-founder of the Spandecks Syndicate (alongside Derek Fisher), The Perfect Cyn is a constant musical influence on the ears of Portland and the Pacific Northwest. Her tastes range from dirty, bassy electro, warm & twitchy tech house, techno, import & acid house, and her passion is for good music, plain and simple.

Lately preferring not to describe things not in terms of traditional genres, but rather how the music makes her feel, The Perfect Cyn finds the most solace & comfort in the warm & twitchy sounds of Techno Sol. "Call it what you will, and sure, there’s nothin’ like rockin’ the dancefloor at peak timeslot, but have you ever heard minimal techno turned up to 11? I guarantee you will make space in your life for this sound once you do. It surrounds you."
